Work undertaken:
A traditional farmhouse set in 40 acres of arable land, the energy bills for the property were eye wateringly high. LPG was used as the main fuel for heating and hot water.
A substantial refurbishment of the property included external insulation, a highly insulated replacement roof and the addition of substantial amounts of glass to make the most of the stunning views across the South Downs National Park.
The mechanical solution includes a Ground Source Heat Pump using horizontal loops, under floor heating to the kitchen/dining and lounge. The remainder of the ground and the first and second floors are heated and cooled via invisible air conditioning units. In addition, the house has a 30kWp solar PV array on the outbuildings and a Tesla Power Wall 2 battery.
